Every other day it seems another newbie posts an idea here for continuing a series that isn't theirs.
Please stop.
It's a rule here at MnF that you can't take liberties with characters and stories that were started by, and belong to, someone else.
Lurk more and learn the rules. You can't use characters that aren't yours.
Just ask permission of the owner first. You need to find the first game where the character shows up for the first time, find out the author of idea and create a topic on our forum. It should be something like that "Hey, Serrated, dude, can I use you character?" If there is no reply within a week, you can ask the game artist the same permission.
How could I ask the owners? I can't find them by searching them.mnf_vadim wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 2:12 pmJust ask permission of the owner first. If you just go back to the first games in a series most of them will have an “idea by” or “story by” tagline. A lot of the authors are still active on the forums. Kelumir, the undertaker, Dwayne and a few others I’m sorry if I forgot. And some of the characters have had multiple authors (Mrs Claus, Tsunade, and Diva Mizuki for example) so permissions for them aren’t as strict. Unfortunately Serrated, who wrote a lot of the more popular characters like officer juggs, doesn’t visit the forum or submit stories anymore, and was very strict with his permissions. A lot of people like to brainstorm ideas about officer juggs on the forums because it’s a lot of fun, but most people know better than to submit them, although occasionally someone does and it doesn’t get made.TheBraveD wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 12:01 amHow could I ask the owners? No offense but does this need to constantly be bumped every time someone posts an idea with a character? I thought it was okay to come with ideas so long as you aren’t actually submitting said ideas without permission
It’s obnoxious and gives me “fun police” vibes every time
